Me and some of my Psych Ward buddies dug the notion and found a book in the Library by the guy who came up with the concept, so I checked out Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. This review focuses more on the beginning of the book, especially on the chapter III. Flow: The psychology of optimal experience. Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. It was first proposed by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi in his landmark book, Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience. I just started reading Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. State of flow experience – Attention is freely invested into achieving goals making boring routines become purposeful and enjoyable. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, author of “Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience,” describes flow as “being completely involved in an activity for its own sake. Book review: “Flow – the psychology of optimal experience” by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi. As are most of this blog's readers, I'm a computer programmer. The Flow Model (see figure 1) was first introduced by positive psychologist Mihaly Csíkszentmihályi. Buried at the far end of yesterday's post was a tiny little mention of one of the top books recommended by many game designers. The author of this book uses psychology to understand happiness and how to live an enjoyable life.
